Office 365 2FA (reopen ticket)
Hi,
I like to re-opne the Ticket https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/64301/office-365-one-time-password-invalid-qr-code-error
If I activate 2FA in Office 365, select "Mobile App" -> without Notifications the created QR Code works with the Google Authentication App but
not with 1Password. Can you please have a look in this?
Thanks

@spstone: I'm not sure I understand. 1Password only works with the TOTP standard, so if a non-standard secret is used, 1Password will not recognize it.
However, it sounds like you're trying to add a QR code, so I wonder if that's the issue. 1Password for Windows does not have a QR code scanner. You'll need to use a text string of the TOTP secret and add it in the item details:
I don't know offhand if this is something Microsoft offers, but perhaps another user does.

But with the Mac App I can scan the QR Code. Also when it works in the Google Authentication App to add the QR Code from Microsoft then there should be a way that it also works in 1Password.
btw: what kind of 1Password Version for Windows do you use. Looks very different to the current one for Windows (6.1.308)

@spstone: Correct. 1Password for Mac has a QR code scanner built in. The Windows app does not, though it's something we'd like to add to the new app in the future. 1Password also does not support proprietary 2FA, only the TOTP standard.
Since you didn't mention which version you were using, I thought you were using 1Password 4 (as in the screenshot I posted), since it has the TOTP feature. 1Password 6 can view TOTP information in an item, but it does not have the ability to create the TOTP (or other custom) fields itself. You can do this in your 1Password Account using the 1Password.com interface, though you will need the text TOTP secret in order to do that.
Are you getting a phonefactor:// URL string as referenced in the discussion you linked? So far I'm not seeing the connection between what you're saying and what was discussed there.

I think I'm complaining about is that a QR Code that works for the Google Authentication App doesn't work for 1Password.
If it works for the Google Authentication App there should be a way that I can also add the same QR Code into 1Password.
The URL String for the Microsoft QR is data:image/x-jpeg;base64,/STRING==
I check that for 10 Microsoft Accounts and 3 of them I could get working in 1Password & Google Authentication App and 7 only in the Google Authentication App0 -
That's the goal, @spstone.
We're working to have full TOTP support in 1Password 6 as soon as possible.Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it.
