why is windows' version inferior?

hello, i've switched from mac to windows a month ago and i wondered why 1password for windows is so crappy compared to its mac counterpart. the extensions on chrome/firefox etc don't open up immediately, the entire interface seems to be 10 years older, when you click on an item it does fill the forms but it doesn't access the site.

why is it?

@ap89: 1Password for Windows has an older codebase than the current version of 1Password for Mac. It was built to support a much wider range of Windows versions, so compared to 1Password for Mac version 6, which only needs to support just over 2 years worth of macOS releases, we're more limited in the tools we can use there. This allowed us to add a lot of great features, but means that it is starting to show its age in the Windows 10 era. And if you're anything like me, you have a lot more data in 1Password now than you did in the past. It doesn't scale well...

However, we're building a brand new Windows desktop app with Microsoft's latest tools so we can take advantage of performance and feature improvements of modern PCs. Currently it supports the 1Password.com subscription service, and we're working on adding features and support for local vaults as well. So while it may not have everything you're looking for yet, you can try it today if you want to get a sense for the direction we're going. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

@ap89: Thanks for clarifying! In that case, I don't understand how the interface seems "older", but I guess that's subjective. And I'm surprised to hear that you're having trouble opening the browser extension. Chrome cannot currently Autosubmit, but it is working in Firefox — at least on the machines I've tested. Which browser and extension versions are you using? And certainly if you're having trouble with specific URLs, be sure to let us now so we can investigate. :)

    chrome extension 4.6.2.90
the first time i click that, a webpage opens up saying that the extension isn't loaded, the app 1password opens up and only after the extension works.

Have you set 1Password to launch automatically when you log into your Windows account (in Settings > Options > General)?
