Recent update has corrupted some wallet field entries

The 4.6.1 update has lost two wallet entries. The titles still exist, but nothing else. The rest of the data in the vault seems OK from a quick visual check.

If I store a new software licence in 1Password I get all the fields you'd expect. One of my existing licences (yours ironically) now looks like this:

I've lost one of my stored credit cards in a similar manner:

Creating a new card includes all the many additional fields you'd expect with a credit card.

As the two damaged records are rarely accessed I've only just noticed. So the 2 months of OPVault backups have just gone past the date of the update. By just a few days >_<

Repairing claims my vault is healthy. Export only covers logins, so that's no use.

I've downloaded the python so i can visually dig. I'll update if this reveals anything of note - probably not before weekend.

Should I be concerned of the integrity of my vault in light of this data loss? Is there anything else I can do to rebuild, validate or generally have confidence more of my vault isn't going to rot?

    Hi @MHolmes,

Thanks for writing in. I'm sorry to hear that.

They do look very strange, 1Password would show template fields even if it is empty, so you could add the data to it. That suggests the template itself is damaged but that's almost extremely rare to see, I haven't seen one in many years.

1Password 4.6.1 was last updated in early Oct, we haven't seen any reports like this either, so it is not likely to be related to the 4.6.1 update. My theory is a sync conflict, this could cause that type of issue by not completing the sync but it wouldn't do it partially, the item would not decrypt like that.

Can you confirm if you're syncing your 1Password data? If yes, how are you syncing?

Are you saying you've already tried restoring to the earliest backup and the data is also damaged there?

1Password updates do not touch your data like this, nor its backups.

Export via CSV is limited to Logins yes, but if you change to 1Password Interchange File (1PIF), it will export everything. I would suggest doing that if you can. The other method is to select the affected items and go to the Help Menu > Advanced > Copy JSON and paste in your text editor (don't save the data or if you must, don't save into any cloud folder). Please don't share any data with us either as these aren't encrypted.
