Firefox browser extension

Hello:

I'm interested in trying out 1P, but here's the problem. I am not permitted to install your software on my work computer. I can, however, install the Firefox browser extension. Is there a way to make the browser extension work without having the 1P app? If not, I'm afraid I won't be able to try out your software.

Hey @csw621, do you know which 1Password app you were trying to install? We have two apps for Windows, 1Password 4 and 1Password 6.

Also, what was blocking you from installing the software on your work PC? Was it just insufficient rights, or something else?

I believe it was IP6.

Yes, it is a user rights issue. I'm not going to be able to get permission to install the app, as much as I'd like that to happen.

@csw261 I see. Unfortunately, we aren't able to remove the requirement for admin right in 1Password 6 right now. But this is a requirement that we would love to stop.

For now, it seems like there isn't a great option for you :(. I'm sorry. We may just need to wait until we can have portable installations of 1Password 6.

@csw621: Thank you for your kind words! I am sorry that 1Password requires some rights you don't have on your work computer. :(

Please stick around in our forums and check the latest updates from us. Having a portable installation of 1Password 6 would be great, but we don't have any timeframe for your at this point.
