Updater no longer works

Hey,

I'm stuck on build 6.3.360d and get prompted to update every time I open it. The updater presents itself for a split second but does not complete updating.

What's the best course of action here?

  • @ppy sorry for the trouble, can you please download 1PasswordSetup-6.3.368.exe from https://app-updates.agilebits.com/product_history/OPW6 and run it with

    1PasswordSetup-6.3.368.exe /LOG="%userprofile%\desktop\368.log"
    

    is there anything in log file created on your desktop? or something in Event Log? does it help if you uninstall build 360 and install 368 after that (don't worry, uninstall does not remove your data, it's just the app that is being removed)?

    I can only find an msi download on that page (which doesn't support the /LOG parameter, it'd seem). Can you throw me a link to the exe or instructions for the msi package?

    Running the executable works as expected and brings me up-to-date.

    Checked event viewer but nothing of use, sorry.

  • Thank you @ppy, unfortunately i can't spot anything suspicious in log either. There is another beta update already in queue (build 370 will be opened later today i hope), let's see how it will go for you.

    Hi - I am unable to update to 6.3.368 the way I usually do which is to log into 1P windows beta > options > update. When I select 6.3.368 nothing happens. I can't update from the email either. Any thoughts? I'm currently running 6.3.352 . Thanks.

    Thanks for writing in. I am guessing you didn't see the email or notification about updating to 6.3.360 because it is required in order to update to 6.3.368.

    For now, to fix this, download the 6.3.368 directly from here: https://cache.agilebits.com/dist/1P/win6/1PasswordSetup-6.3.368.exe

    Can you email us your diagnostics report from 1Password, I want to try something else to see what it could be. Please use this guide to generate the 1Password diagnostic report and email it to us at support+windows@agilebits.com. Also, in the email, include the link to this thread along with your forum username, so that we can connect the email to this thread.

    Let us know here when you've sent it, so we can confirm we got the email.

    @MikeT All good now. I don't usually skip the updates but I was away on vacation and just figured I'd just do the next one. My bad.

  • No worries, it is just that we don't yet have the capability of mandating a specific version before you could install the next update. It is something we're working on but we're hoping this is the last time we need to switch installer.

    Hope you had a great vacation and enjoying 1Password 6.3 so far.
