Windows / Android / Online Sync Issues & Updates
First off, syncing is not automatic between windows, online & android.
Second, there is a constant red Sync Errors in the windows ver., when clicking on it, nothing happens or shows up to explain the issue.
Third, why is there no sync button to force a sync in the windows ver.
A bit of a pain when the platforms are not syncing.
As a side note, every update removes the icon.
Just tried to remove the pin and restart 1password... it triggered AVG Antivirus. it removed 1password, now I have to reinstall it.
a lot of hassle for a paid service.
*definitely not smiling like the profile icon...

Hi @cmam,
Thanks for writing in.
First off, syncing is not automatic between windows, online & android.
Can you tell me how are you choosing to sync, are you using an 1Password.com account or Dropbox?
Second, there is a constant red Sync Errors in the windows ver., when clicking on it, nothing happens or shows up to explain the issue.
That may be due to a sync conflict on a trashed item, Sync Errors do not display trashed items. This is a bug we've fixed already in the upcoming 1Password 6.3 update. If you'd like, we do have it available as a release candidate via the beta update channel that you can use now. To enable the beta updates, open 1Password 6, unlock, and click on Settings on top right (gear) and go to Options > Updates, enable the Include Beta Builds option and follow the instructions below it.
Third, why is there no sync button to force a sync in the windows ver.
Forcing a sync isn't required on desktops, we sync in real time and for 1Password.com accounts, we have a consistent notifier connected to our servers to get updates in real time.
The fact that you're seeing Sync Errors means the sync is working but the server has returned an error back to us, rejecting the change you've made. In the upcoming 1Password 6.3 update, this will be improved to be handled automatically for you.
As a side note, every update removes the icon.
This is also fixed in the 1Password 6.3 update, this was an issue with the MSI installer we've used, we've switched to a different installer in 1Password 6.3 that fixes these issues.
. it triggered AVG Antivirus. it removed 1password, now I have to reinstall it.
Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about these overaggressive scanners, they do more harm than being helpful. You'll have to configure AVG to whitelist 1Password files.
