Downloaded and installed Windows app today. Crashes upon start
I have downloaded and installed the Windows application today (AgileBits.OnePassword.Desktop-6.3.359.msi). I have installed it on 64bit Windows 7 Enterprise.
Upon running the Application, it immediately crashes.
I cannot upload screenshots apparently.
But the message (when I try to debug and it fails to find one) is: "An unhandled Microsoft .NET Framework exception occured in AgileBits.OnePassword.Desktop.exe []._ ....blabla cannot find debugger...._"
I have an existing and working 1Password4 executable still running...
From the Windows application log:
Application: AgileBits.OnePassword.Desktop.exe

Hi @jazzter,
Thanks for reporting this.
Make sure .NET framework is up to date on your computer. Install .NET 4.6.2 from here and reboot, see if it works to open 1Password now.

That did not help unfortunately.
this version keeps crashing even after installing the .net version and a reboot0 -
Hey!
We're sorry to hear that starting the app still doesn't work. Please download the latest version from our site and attempt the installation:

Nope, same issue... :-(
Fortunately my trusted 1Password 4 install still works, but the Family account doesn't work there of course...0 -
The problem seems specific to my laptop. When I tried to install Visual Studio (free edition) in order to obtain a debugger that might help pinpoint the problem the installer crashed with a very similar message ("An unhandled Microsoft .NET Framework exception").

Hi @jazzter,
Thanks for writing back. That would imply either Windows or .NET is misconfigured or damaged on your laptop.
Try running Microsoft's Installer repair tool here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
That often helps. If not, it would mean the damage is extended to Windows. In this case, try System File Checker: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833
