Cant access vault unless I sign in???

I'm pretty frustrated with the new version of the Windows app. I enter my master password and then I'm presented with the option to Sign in to my 1Password Account which I don't have nor will I sign up for. I have to quit 1Password altogether using the icon in the taskbar. Then when I open it lets me get access to my Dropbox vault. I try to sync the Vault but it doesn't get my latest passwords that I have to create from my mobile app. I close the window, re-open it, forced to sign in to 1Password.

Now I removed my Dropbox vault thinking I could re-add it. Can't get to any screen except for the damn "Sign in to my 1Password Account".

This is really frustrating.

    Hello @mcbutterbuns,

I am sorry for the confusion with 1Password on Windows!

If you are using a local vault synced via Dropbox, you should download 1Password 4 for Windows, not 1Password 6. Here it is. 1Password 6 is focused on our subscription-based 1Password.com accounts and does not support local vaults at the moment.

If you are curious to learn more about 1Password accounts and their benefits, you can check this article on our website.

I hope it helps. If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know. Thank you!

    Cheers,
    Greg

1Password 6 supported local vaults up until the last release. Why was this feature removed? I'm not going to pay you a subscription after I've already paid for the software.

This is a really bad move. Looks like it's time to find a new password vault.

@mcbutterbuns: No, it didn't. I still have a local vault there and can load others if I need to import data from them. The new 1Password 6 Windows desktop app has always had only read-only support for local vaults, to make it possible to import data into a 1Password.com account. What we've changed in recent releases is move the option out of the setup screen, as people were trying to use the app only with local vaults but confused that they couldn't make changes since that hasn't been implemented.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. You can continue using the version that you paid for for as long as you have a computer that will run it, as your license never expires.
