Chrome extension is empty

Hi there,

I have used 1Password for several years across various devices. I recently got a new Windows laptop at work and installed 1Password and the Chrome extension. The main app works fine, but the extension is empty when I open it. Almost as if it cannot see the vault. It offers to remember new passwords etc, but otherwise is empty.

I'm running Windows 8.1 Enterprise edition. Chrome Version 58.0.3029.96 (64-bit). 1Password 4.6.1.620

I've tried the obvious things like uninstall and reinstall.

Any advice?

    Hello @GordonMck,

    Thank you for reaching out and using 1Password!

    Is it possible that you have 1Password 6 installed in addition to 1Password 4? Please check if you have 1Password 6 in Start > Settings > Apps & Features. If you see 1Password 6 there, please try to uninstall it. 1Password 4 for Windows should connect to the extension after that.

    Please let me know if my hunch is correct. If I am totally off the mark here, we are always here for you. Looking forward to your reply.

    Hello,

    I'm experiencing the same issue. However, when I uninstalled 1Password 6, iPassword 4 did not connect. I just couldn't connect at all. Any suggestions? Why can't I install iPassword 4 directly? Thanks in advance!

    @elainshieh: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the trouble! Unfortunately without some basic information it's hard to say what might be going wrong and how we might right it! Please tell me the OS, 1Password, browser, and extension versions you're using, the exact steps you're taking, and what is (or is not) happening the way you expect so we can figure out the best plan of action:

    Find your version

    The more information you can give, the better. For instance, are you using a 1Password.com account or not? Thanks in advance! :)

    Thanks for the quick response. I think everything is working fine now. I tried various things, so not sure what did the trick.
