A few thoughts on the new UI improvements in the latest beta
Hi, overall I think the new UI tweaks to the sidebar are an improvement. However, there are a few little bits that I think could be improved, bearing in mind that I'm sure a lot of these things will already be on your list, and that the UI will only get better as the new design beds in:
1) Maybe it's my obsessive nature, but I think the category dividing lines crossing behind the scrollbar could be shortened/tidied up (see attached pic).
2) I like the way the new scrollbars get out of the way when no longer needed, but I think they'd look better if they were like the scrollbars in the Windows 10 start menu, which disappear completely when not needed, and have a fade in/out animation when activated.
3) I also like the new bar at the bottom, which contains trash, lock, help and settings. However, I think it would be better if there was some way of telling how many items are in your trash, which seems to have been lost with the new design. Maybe an iOS style number badge?
Hope I'm not being too niggly, and overall I think the new UI is a solid improvement, with good improvements like the splitting of Categories, Tags, and Security into tabbed sections. Thanks :+1:

I am pleased to say you're right, these definitely are already on the list (and fixed in many places). This is the great thing about betas, as you know, beta users get to see things before the fully polished stable releases make it out there. You will be seeing many, many, refinements in upcoming releases. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

@pbryanw thanks for the feedback and it's great to know we are moving in the right direction. Just wanted to elaborate on trash count - hover your mouse over that button, you shall see number of trashed items in tooltip. Hope that helps :)

Thanks to both of you for your help & quick replies. I'm glad to hear that many refinements are coming because it's a strong base to build on, and look forward to seeing the new improvements bed in as the beta develops.
@SergeyTheAgile - Thanks for that tip. For some reason I hadn't tried hovering my mouse over the trash button but this fixes this problem for me :+1:
