Password is required to save a form?
I'm not able to save a new login entry unless the form contains a password-type field. This is a problem for websites that have separate pages for username and password (Google, Banks, etc) or for saving other general forms.
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to google.com and log out if currently logged into a Google account
- Click the Sign In button. If it shows a list of known accounts to choose from, either remove them or click on "Sign in with another account" link
- It should have a field asking for an Email or Phone number. Enter an email address like
user@host.com
but do not click Next - From the 1P browser extension menu, select the gear icon, choose "Save New Login"
Expected results: The 1P Save Login dialog should appear
Actual results: Nothing happens.
UX feedback: A menu should never do just nothing. If there is a problem or incomplete data to perform the menu function, a dialog window should be shown to the user explaining the problem/requirements.
Additional Info: A platform difference; On OSX, I'm able to save any form types. I often will save misc forms that I may need to submit again later. For example, I discovered this issue this morning when attempting to save a large Request Form that collected contact info/sales demographics before download software trials.
1Password Version: 6.6.423
Extension Version: 4.6.7.1 (Chrome 58)
OS Version: Windows 7 Pro x64
Sync Type: 1Password.com

@Smudge: Thanks for bringing this up. It's something we're aware of and will be addressing in an update. While we don't want 1Password offering to Auto save on a form with no password field, you're right that it should save if you tell it to explicitly. I've brought this up with the team and added your report to the issue we're tracking for this. We'll get it sorted. :)
