Chrome dialog does not close on <Esc> if not logged in

The Chrome helper dialog that pops up automatically when a password submission has been detected in the browser does not close on (when it has the focus) if the 1Password session has timed-out and a password is required to unlock.

By contrast, if 1Password is in an unlocked state and an unwanted save password dialog appears, it can be quickly closed with .

This is likely a bug and it'd be great to have it fixed! Currently the only other keyboard-based alternative is alt-f4, which is a bit dangerous..

    Hello @mqudsi,

Thank you for reporting this! I tried to reproduce this issue on my side and here is what I got.

This is the prompt that pops up automatically, when 1Password asks you to save/update the Login item:

You can dismiss this prompt by pressing Escape or clicking on the cross in the upper right corner. When 1Password locks due to inactivity, this prompt locks as well:

You can't dismiss it by pressing Escape button, but you still can click on the Close button in the upper right corner and it will go away.

Could you please tell me, do you get the same behaviour?

If you don't want 1Password to prompt you to save/update passwords on some websites, you can add those websites to the exception list in Options > Browsers > Autosave. Let me know if it works for you. Thanks in advance!

I will be looking forward to your reply!

    Cheers,
    Greg

    Hi @Greg ,

Yes, you've reproduced the problem correctly. The bug is that, quoting you: "You can't dismiss it by pressing Escape button,"

That is a bug because the behavior is inconsistent (user does not know ahead of time if they'll see the save new password dialog or the unlock dialog).

    Hi @mqudsi,

If you enter your Master Password and unlock 1Password, you will see the prompt to save/update your password. If you don't want to see that prompt on a specific website, please try to add it to the exception list, as I've described above.

As for Esc button when 1Password is locked, I will pass this incorrect behaviour along to our team, so we could discuss it internally. Thank you for noticing! :+1:
