Confused about status of v 4
I am confused about the status of version 4 for Windows from reading discussions in various section of these forums. Is version 4 still being supported and updated? Or is it dead and done in the water?
Also, will a future update thru the app basically disable v 4 and force me into using the the could based version for windows?

@Gator5000e: Yes and no. 1Password 4 probably won't be receiving new features (in the sense that you'd consider), but we just released a pretty significant update this month to support Native Messaging in Chrome, and to prepare for upcoming Firefox changes later this year. And we'll be doing critical updates as needed as well. I'd argue that browser compatibility is pretty critical, but the development team thinks of this as a new feature considering the work involved. ;)

Absolutely not. That would intentionally break something we've worked really hard on, even recently, and just anger a lot of people who depend on the app. I'm still using it and I certainly wouldn't be happy about that either, both as a user and on principle. And you'll probably have noticed that we've never done that with an old version of 1Password. There are people still using versions we built in 2009 even today. We'd very much like you to use 1Password.com, but breaking something you already paid for would be a great way to make sure that you never support us again.
I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Thanks, Brenty. Honestly, I don't use any of the browser pluggins. When I need a password, I just open 1P and copy and paste from my desktop app to where I need the password, so this is good news for me. Thank you, again.
