My 1password (v3.8.20) crashes every time I try to create or edit a login. Won't update either.
when I try to update the software (as I don't know whether I have an up to date version, I suspect I don't), I get "check for update failed with error:could not understand response from server."

@eguimaraes: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the confusion! In the years since 1Password 3 was discontinued we've made some changes to our update servers so it cannot talk to them anymore. You can download a slightly newer (less old?) version of 1Password 3 directly from our update site, but since it isn't compatible with recent OS or browser releases you may want to consider a 1Password.com membership, since it gives the latest version of all of the apps, the web interface, and does away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data:
1Password.com
