See login "notes" from browser extension?

I seem to remember in the past being able to click the browser extension button when on a site and being able to hover over the entry for that site and then seeing all of the details for that entry (specifically the "notes" section). My use case is this. When signing up a new account alot of sites ask you to create security questions. I don't answer these truthfully as someone might actually be able to know those as well. So I create bogus answers. For example...Mother's Maiden Name? aslk3391dDk3##2391. I will store all of these security questions and answers in the "notes" section for that login. That way if I am ever asked I can easily pull up the answer. So back to my original question, is there a way to see (and copy/paste) the "notes" section for a login via the browser extension rather than viewing it in the full 1Password client? If not, can you submit that as a feature request?

    Hello there @btownguy,

Thank you for contacting us and using 1Password! :)

If you add your bogus answers as a custom section in your Login item, you will be able to copy them right from the extension. Here is how it looks:

I've added a custom section called "Security Questions", added the label "Mother's Maiden Name", and chose a password field type for the answer:

Now I am able to copy it from the extension:

Could you please give it a try and let me know if it suits your needs? Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Greg

Great! Glad that helped! Just as an added tip, you may want to consider generating word-based passwords for some of these if you may need to read them to someone over the phone. Cheers!

Just tested this out and it works perfectly! Yeah, to your point it's always funny when someone on the phone asks to confirm my pet's name and I tell them 4kDkf482sDk. :-)

  • @btownguy That's crazy, that's my pet's name too! I'm glad you're finding some fun in generated answers for security questions. They're always good for a chuckle (and sometimes a confused support rep). Let us know if we can do anything else to help! :chuffed:
