import documents into 1password

I would like to import my passport, driver's license, etc into 1password. I could do this with the previous version. Will this be a feature with this version?

You can import your documents to your 1Password account in 1Password 6 for Windows by going to + New Item > Import files as Documents.... They will be imported to the Documents category in your vault. Please let me know if this is what you want to achieve. Thank you!

I would like to link a scan of my driver license that I've imported into documents to my license in the driver license section. Can I do that?

Thanks for writing.

Not yet, that's coming in a future update (not a long wait) with feature we call Related Items. You'll be able to link the document file to your Driver License item or vis versa, you can add multiple related items as well.

I think that I had done that years ago with my old license from a different state, as I saw it before I updated to my new license in the state where I'm now living. How is that?

Possibly if you were using a Mac @andygreenberg1 or (if on Windows) the old 1Password 4 although I never used that version myself.

As darrenNZ said, you may have been using 1Password 4 for Windows that has file attachments, which 1Password.com doesn't have as it switched to Documents. We did this because this meant you wouldn't have to share the entire Driver License item with other folks, sharing the document item only includes that file and not the rest of the sensitive information you want to protect.

The macOS version of 1Password 6 does have Related Items already and if you use this version, 1Password 6 for Windows will display it like so:

Yep, in that case, 1Password 6 for macOS had that feature, we just haven't implement it yet as 1Password 6 is a clean start for us on Windows.
