My program crashes every time I try to edit an entry. It is also not syncing entries with my iphone.

You'll want to read up about this on https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/78728/1password-3-legacy-support-information#latest

The summary is that 1Password 3 is really not supported on 10.12 and you'll want to migrate to 1Password 6.
