Future of the standalone app [1Password 7 is coming with standalone vaults/license support]
I've been a 1Password user and cheerleader for a few years. I always recommended it to my friends. I originally selected it because it offered some freedom in data sync (use iCloud, Dropbox, or even some random folder on my computer that could be synced by other means). It seems like with the move to a subscription service, local control of my data becomes a feature of the past. So I was wondering about the future of the standalone app.
What's the expected lifespan for support/updates for those of us who purchased the app years ago and want to stick to the old model? I'd be happy to continue paying for version upgrades, assuming my use case (sync via folders or third party cloud services) is supported.

Hi @krackle,
Thanks for writing in. 1Password 7 is in heavy development that will have full support for standalone vaults, folder sync, and licensing. You can see our announcement here: https://blog.agilebits.com/2017/08/01/1password-6-7-for-windows-a-feature-buffet/
