1Password add-on in Firefox making it always on top
All of a sudden FF started always being on top on my PC. If I started FF in safe mode then everything worked fine. The only add-on i had was 1Password so i tried disabling that and that fixed the problem. I searched on the forum and found a similar issue that someone had with chrome. I followed the directions there and that fixed it. In that link it said it was "Generally, this is symptomatic of a mismatch between the SMA secrets the app and extension have". This worries me because it just started happening. Is this something to be worried about?

Hello there @jjvierra
Thank you for reaching out! This is a known issue, so please do the following to fix it:
- Quit Chrome and 1Password
- In Windows Explorer (not Interner Explorer), enter
%localappdata%\AgileBits
in the address bar and press return. - In the resulting folder, you should see a file named
OPX4.auth
. Delete this file. - Restart your PC.
- Open the main 1Password app and go to the Help Menu > Advanced > Use Native Messaging.
- Restart your web browsers and give it another try.
Let us know how it works after that. Thanks!

Thanks! Any security issues with this?

@jjvierra: Nope! The OPX4.auth file is a remnant of when we were using WebSockets to communicate with the browser. In that case, we needed the user to verify the connection by matching the codes between the two — which resulted in that being saved. With Native Messaging, which we're using now, a secure connection can be established automatically, so there's no manual step. Cheers! :)
