Working with tags in Windows needs improvement

When I use the Windows version (which in my opinion seems far more limited than the Mac version), I have a hard time working with tags.
It seems to me that working with tags in Windows needs improvement.

Suggestions:
1. make the introduction of tag names predictive: in some softs when you begin writing the name of a tag, the system usually helps you to complete the tag name using the tags already created. The lack of the feature leads to misspellings and errors.
2. dragging an item into a tag name should deliver the assignment of that tag to that item. That would make the process far agiler.
3. adding color to the tags would be of help.

  • Hi @jlurbieta,

    Thanks for writing in.

We do agree, tags needs a lot of improvements and we just haven't gotten to it yet. The good news is that a lot of the internal changes we've made in the recent 1Password 6.8 update is making it possible to make bulk changes. That was the reason we haven't been able to improve tags yet, we needed to prepare the foundation first to handle updating a lot of items at the same time. In case you may not be aware, 1Password 6 for Windows is a "clean" codebase, it is only a year old, not 6th version or anything like that. We're working as fast as we can to get it on the same level of the macOS version, which has a lot of years behind it.

    1. Auto-completing tags is planned.
    2. Dragging items onto the sidebar is planned for the future. We will start with something easier/quick to implement, right-click on multiple items to tag or untag them.
    3. We don't support colored tags anywhere in any 1Password apps, so this is not likely to happen any time soon but I'll be sure to pass on your request to our platform team.
