@Peter007: I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence, but you didn't include any version information for the 1Password app. Do you maybe not have it installed? If so, the browser extension will not be able to talk to it. Did you purchase a license for the standalone 1Password app, or are you using a 1Password.com membership? That will determine which version you need.

I use the online membership...I think my.1password.com. Do I still need an app? I started off with the app but deleted it from my pc as I thought it would be redundant0 -
@Peter007: You don't need to use the 1Password apps. You could just use the website. But since the apps are incredibly useful and included in a 1Password.com membership, you might as well give them a try. You can download them from the Get the Apps page in your account:

And with the app installed, you can also install the extension to use to save and fill logins in your web browser:
https://agilebits.com/onepassword/extensions
