Firefox Sync password

I've just turned on Firefox Sync so I can sync my bookmarks across devices (I gave up on Xmarks when I ditched LastPass). When I sign into FF Sync, 1P doesn't prompt me to save the password. I tried saving it manually; the URL from the sign in page: about:accounts?action=signin&entrypoint=preferences

When I click on the 1P icon in FF, it doesn't pull up the manually-saved entry so I can't autofill the password to sign in. How do I use 1P with FF Sync? [NB: I have Saved Logins turned off in FF]

  • Hi @CharleneTX,

    Thanks for reporting this.

I'm not able to reproduce this:

What version of Firefox are you using? Your URL doesn't work for me. When I clicked on Sign In button, it redirect me to: https://accounts.firefox.com/signin?service=sync&context=fx_desktop_v3&entrypoint=menupanel

    Can you try that URL?

Signing into FF Sync doesn't take you to the accounts.firefox.com URL.

    Tools | Options | Sync | Sign In = about:accounts?action=signin&entrypoint=preferences

  • Hi @CharleneTX,

Ah, okay, I see the differences, that's the older style.

about:accounts?action=signin&entrypoint=preferences is not a website that 1Password extension sees, it's part of the browser, so it doesn't support it. We will look into adopting a special handling for this non-URL address but for now, you'd have to manually save a Login item within 1Password 6 and copy/paste next time via 1Password mini.
