Worth upgrading from 1Password 4 to 1Password 6?
I apologize for the faulty English language used. I use 1Password 4 on Windows PC (Windows 10 pro x64)
I am pleased, my only disappointment is that there are no product updates anymore, very rarely or not at all.
Of course, the new version of 1Password 6 requires an annual subscription, and this shows more interest to developers. I always see updates for version 6
Obviously, I do not condemn.
I wonder if it's worth upgrading, is not it a waste of money?
I'm not interested in a family account, just personal
I also use Bitdefender Total Security 2018, which has a very good password manager.
If I decide to upgrade to version 6, will I have a better price?
As in my country, the exchange rate fluctuates a lot, is it possible to buy a subscription for only 2-3 years, paying at the beginning?
My health is very poor and I would like to enjoy this wonderful program the few days I will have for my life.
Thanks a lot!

Hi there @kronikom,
Thank you for reaching out and using 1Password! We really appreciate it and I will do my best to explain the situation with 1Password on Windows now.
1Password 4 for Windows is a fully featured app that supports standalone licenses and local vaults. If you are using it, you should upgrade it to the latest version available, 1Password 4.6.2.626. You can check for updates in Help > Check for New Version or download it from here.
However, 1Password 4 was released quite a while ago and the technology behind it is getting long in the tooth. We are building a new app right now, 1Password 6 for Windows, but it is not a direct update – 1Password 6 is focused on our 1Password membership accounts and doesn't support local vaults and standalone licenses. We believe that this is the best (and the most convenient) way of using 1Password and you can learn more about its benefits on our website:
What are the benefits of a 1Password membership?
When you have 1Password account, it includes all 1Password apps for all platforms (+ web-interface). All future upgrades are also included in your subscription. There are no licenses to keep track of or sync options to set up — you simply download the apps from 1Password.com and sign in to your account, sync happens automatically.
Right now, only annual subscription is possible, so if you prefer local vaults and standalone licenses, please stay tuned for 1Password 7 for Windows, which will support them. However, I do not have any timeframe at the moment and I hope for your understanding.
Please let me know if it helps and answers your question. If you have more of them, feel free to raise them in your reply. Thank you!
Cheers,

Thanks a lot Greg!
I use the last build on 1Password 4
I own the 1Password version for iOS, but I would like to transfer all passwords from my Windows PC to 1Password in iPhone.
I think 1Password 6 is the best way to automatically sync.Unfortunately, I can not afford a subscription for a long time ...
Offf, I was born in the wrong country :(1Password 6 is the best, I just promoted it to my LinkedIn account

@kronikom: 1Password 6 is only available with a 1Password.com memberships, as it doesn't ave support for local vaults. 1Password 7 will support both, but I can't say when that will be ready. Shoot us an email at support@1password.com and post the Support ID you receive here. We'll see what we can do to help. :)

Hi,
Kind of having same type of question. I am the happy owner of 1Passord4 license. I miss the offline vault. Sure I see the benefits of an online account, but I am often in places where I have no internet access and I need to have a vault that remains in the file system of my company. No question to store those info on the web...
So my questions:
1) can I use 1Password 6 offline? (open the app without internet connection)
2) any news concerning 1Password 7 where it seems, local vaults are back?
3) And yes last question: is it possible to export the content of the web vault to a local vault? Those questions are also motivated that I am using 1Password6 on Mac OS and iOS with iCloud syncing.
Best regards,
JMB

@jmborer: Sure thing!

Yep! The Windows app has a local cache just like the other apps. :)
2) any news concerning 1Password 7 where it seems, local vaults are back?
Nothing to announce right now, but it's coming. ;)
3) And yes last question: is it possible to export the content of the web vault to a local vault?
On Windows, not really, since the current version doesn't support local vaults. You can export the data, but version 7 will have full support for both, so it will just be a matter of copying from one vault to the other.
Those questions are also motivated that I am using 1Password6 on Mac OS and iOS with iCloud syncing.
Good to know! If that's working well for you now, no harm in sticking with it. Then again, you can always try a 1Password.com account to see how you like it...and version 7 will have the best of both worlds (albeit no iCloud on Windows). Cheers! :)
