Help menu does not have option to enter license key

I am trying to install 1Password on a new computer running Windows 10. I have standalone (i.e., not "account") 1Password. I downloaded the Windows 7 or higher version from 1Password, and installed it on my new computer. When I open it, it asks for my "Secret Key." It will not accept my license key. After searching on the Forum, I found a response that said to select the Help menu and then the "enter license key" option. But the Help menu does not give me the option to enter the license key. What do I do?

@jackdew: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the confusion! 1Password 6 does not use a license key; it works only with 1Password.com accounts. You may want to consider a 1Password.com membership, since it gives you access to all of the apps, the web interface, and does away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data. You can try it for free for 30 days to take advantage of all of its benefits. Otherwise you can use the version you paid for. I've sent your license details via email in case you need them, so you can follow the instructions there to install and register the app. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

I have the same problem. Bought the software, integrated it into ios, windows, chrome and now I need to install it on a new PC. Do I need to open a new thread, send an email somewhere?

    thanks.

@STDK: Nope. You can use your existing license with the version you purchased and sync your data from another device or create a new vault. Your license information has been resent via email, so just follow the instructions there to download and register the app. Cheers! :)

Ahhh.. I had to download the "Stand alone version" from the download page and then use my registre key. The "Help->enter license" wasnt on the other other version.

@STDK: That is correct, 1Password 6 for Windows does not support local vaults and standalone licenses, it is focused on our 1Password.com accounts, so you can't enter your license key there. We are sorry for the confusion.

Let us know if you have any other difficulties with 1Password right now, we are always ready to help. Thanks! :+1:

    Cheers,
    Greg

Is there any way to use chrome extension (maybe older version) with local vaults and standalone licenses?

I have a standalone version of 1Password 4. I have my license key, but I cannot find where to download this past version as the newer ones don't work with license keys

@Griso8V: There will be a link to it in your license email. Alternatively you can get it from our downloads page:

    https://1password.com/downloads/

    or the update server:

    Cheers! :)
