Dear All

Is 1password compatible with windows server under citrix and is there a procedure to install this, and are there some limits?

Kind Regards,

SL

  • @Stekke_L: With the introduction of native messaging for the browser extensions, 1Password 6 should work just fine with Windows Server and Citrix right out of the box. :+1:

@bundtkate - But the 1Password application installs to the AppData folder in the installing user's profile. That makes it very difficult, if not impossible to publish from Citrix. My client does not want to use the browser extension. Do you have a solution for my specific problem?

@aaron_inet: If they don't need browser integration, the app can be copied somewhere else. Just keep in mind that doing so is unsupported and other things may break — at the very least updates: you'd probably need to do those manually.

@brenty - Thank you. Do you happen to have any documentation of best practices when using 1Password v7.1.156 as a Published Application?

  • Hi @aaron_inet,

Since this isn't officially supported, there will not be any documentations until we have a supported method to handle deployments. In addition, we also have plans to change a few things in the future that can affect such deployments.

At the moment we use InnoSetup right now as our installer and you can use this guide to customize the installation process.

We're not familiar with how Citrix deploy apps but if you wish, you can use a script to deploy 1Password your own way. If you need more details, please email us at support+windows@1password.com with the link to this thread included.
