The layout issue has been reported and accepted as a bug: see here, for example. (Although that relates to German it's also been reported as affecting Dutch and, I believe, other non-English localisations, so AgileBits is aware of the issue.)

In the captures below, you can see two panes of the Preferences window.
As you can see, alignments and labels are weird. At least in French.

For example:

Could easily fit as:
