1Password 7 fresh install on fresh Mac makes linking to existing 1Password.com difficult

I've installed 1Password 7 on a few macs that didn't have an older version of 1Password on it before. I went to login to the existing 1password.com account, and found it to be nearly impossible to do.

1Password 7 wants me to create a new trial account OR buy a license first. If I manage to cancel out of that, 1Password 7 typically just hangs and I need to force quit.

If I say the mantra and incantations just right, I can get it to show me a choice of what I'd like to have it open -- i.e. restore from a backup, login into a 1password.com account, etc.. But, if I tell it to log into the existing 1password account, it again tries to get me to create a new trial account.

In order for me to actually make it work, I need to create a new standalone vault, log into the 1password account, then remove the standalone vault. VERY unintuitive.

1Password 6 works correctly, BTW...
