2FA prompt is not obviously a 1Password prompt

While it will usually be clear from context (i.e. the user attempts to open their 1Password vault), the 2FA prompt doesn't make it obvious that it's for 1Password. The prompt doesn't include the name 1Password, and I don't recognize the icon as a 1Password icon. I can tell that it's a 1Password prompt by looking in the menubar.

If you're curious why this wasn't blatantly obvious to me from context, it's because I enabled 2FA on a different device, and was confronted by this prompt upon moving to this device, so "signing into 1Password" wasn't on my mind.

I was also confused by the prompt, since my Menu Bar did not say 1Password and it popped up over Safari. The blog post says, "Any time you sign in to your account from a new device you’ll be prompted for a one-time password", so I did not expect to be prompted by currently logged in devices.

  • Hi folks,

Thanks for the feedback on this. We do have an issue open to re-evaluate this screen.
