The shortcut for 1Password mini does not work any more
I've just upgraded to 1Password 7 on Windows 10 and I'm no more able to use any shortcut in order to use 1Password mini in the latest version of Firefox.
I'm using a French-Swiss keyboard (QWERTZ) and I have already tried the following actions :-1:
- restart the browser
- restart 1Password
- uninstall and install again the Firefox extension
- try another shortcut
- get the shortcut with or without ALT
It was working like a charm with 1Password 4...
If we do not find any solution, is it possible to get a refund ?
Kind regards and thanks for your help.
1Password Version: 7.0.558
Extension Version: 4.7.1.90
OS Version: Windows 10

I had the same issue with the same keyboard. I changed to another combo, in my case Ctrl + Alt+’ which works for me.

Thanks for your help Andrew. I changed the shortcut and it works fine.
CTRL + ALT + -
As soon as I try to use a key that requires a shortcut it does not work. Example :
- If I want to write +, the following shortcut is required on a Fench-Swiss keyboard : SHIFT + 1
- If I want to write - or p, I can directly push the right key and it comes directly
With 1Password 4.x, both were working fine.
Hope this will also help others.

@Andrew42: Thank you! :chuffed:
@tnalias: Indeed, super frustrating! Even within the same region there can be variation with keyboard layouts. Using
+
is just a suggestion. And unfortunately we don't really have any leeway here with this, as it's all handled by Windows APIs and the OS itself. You may find that another key works better with your setup, or that there's something else that simply is more convenient for you. For example, I've used
Ctrl
(Alt
)<
or]
at different times ("couch" keyboards are pretty inhospitable) . Even on some US keyboards\
or/
are not super friendly. That's why we made it customizable. Definitely experiment with it. You don't need to uninstall anything, just quit 1Password and relaunch it to apply the change. I'm sure you'll find a combination that suits you. :)0 -
@tnallas. You and I and others who have the Swiss-French keyboard have to use keys that don't interfere with other programmes, (Brenty told me the we can't use the figure 1, for example). In addition, I think we have to avoid using any symbol that requires either the Shift or the Alt Gr key.
