Upgrade from version 1.0.9

I have an old version of 1Password which has served me well for a while. I want to upgrade to the latest version and am interested in 1Password Families. However, we have hundreds of passwords already stored in the data file in DropBox. Before I pay for the upgrade, I'm curious to know if I'll be able to import my passwords from the older version/DropBox file.

1Password Version: 1.0.9
Extension Version: 342
OS Version: Windows 10
Sync Type: ?

    Your options are limited as 1Password 1.0.9 doesn’t know about OPVault only AgileKeychain. The subscription service which you can try will import AgileKeychain but otherwise won’t do anything with local vaults.

    1Password 7 will read/write OPVaults not AgileKeychain.

    As you are interested in Families, then give it a try.

    @earmsby: Indeed, you may run into some issues importing if the data is in a very old state. But, worst case scenario, you'd be able to do the migration in 1Password 4 first and then import into 1Password 7, and we'll be happy to help with that if you encounter any trouble. In that case, please shoot us an email at support@1password.com and post the Support ID you receive here so we can work with you there on that. :)

    I started a trial of the Families subscription and all worked fine to import all the entries into the new account. I haven't gotten rid of the older version or the vault in DropBox yet but no problems so far with the newer version. Thanks for your reply!

    @brenty,

    It has been such a long time for me, using 1Password for Windows 1.0, that I forgot it was the equivalent of 1Password 3 for the Mac! Glad @earmsby is able to solve his issues.

    @earmsby: That's even easier than I thought it would be! Glad to hear you're up and running with your new 1Password.com account, and we're here if you need anything. :chuffed:
