Auto-saved generated passwords messing with Watchtower's "Reused Passwords"

This is related to the closed discussion on this link: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/57798/option-to-disable-auto-saving-generated-passwords

I have the same problem as the OP and I now have too many auto-generated passwords without context, as reported by @rblackford (i.e, username is not captured) filed under "Passwords" and these entries then get filed under "Reused Passwords", where the funny thing is that I used 1Password's built-in password generator to generate unique passwords.

Finally, on 1P for Windows 7.1.567, right click on "Passwords" does not give me the menu option "Remove Redundant" as advised by @jxpx777.

This auto-save feature may be useful, but I'd like to have the auto-saved passwords saved in a section hidden under Categories (provide a setting to show/hide it), and not interfere with WatchTower's "Reused Passwords".

    Hi @msxtj,

Thanks for writing in about this. Please read my reply in the related Windows thread about this here: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/443705/#Comment_443705

There are no cleanup tools yet in 1Password 7 but it is coming. Once it is implemented, you're not going to see anything in Reused Passwords because there will be no Password items remaining.

I see that many people raised that issue. I hope this problem gets fixed soon.

  • Not that many but it is increasing because of the new Watchtower features in the last two 1Password 7 updates that makes this more requested. These cleanup feature requests will be implemented but there is no timeframe on when it is coming.
