Watchtower showing "Inactive 2fa" sites even though 2fa is activated
I definetly have activated for the sites showing up in Watchtower regarding 2FA (e.g. Amazon).

Hi @Gromit1965,
Thanks for writing in.
Are you using 1Password as the 2FA authenticator or a different app? It goes away if you store the 2FA secret within the item but if you're using a different authenticator, tag the items with
2FA
and Watchtower will dismiss the banner for you.0 -
Hi Mike,
thanks for the quick answer. I'm using Google Authenticator for 2FA.
Sorry, but how can I use 1Password for the same ?0 -
Hi @Gromit1965,
Please check this guide:
Use 1Password as an authenticator for sites with two-factor authentication
Let us know how it works for you. :) Thanks!

Hi @MikeT ! I'm currently having the exact same problem on Mac OS, don't know if I should start a brand new thread or if this one will do the trick as well, but what do you mean by "tag the item" ? Like adding a tag that says "2FA" ?
Thanks for your help and have a nice day0 -
That is correct, add a tag called
2FA
to your items and Watchtower will suppress the 2FA banner on these tagged items.0 -
Alright because I did just that, updated Watchtower, but still the banner keeps appearing and the item is still in Watchtower.
It shows something like this (sorry it's in French)0 -
@valentincoindreau: You appear to have put "2FA" in a custom field, not entered it as a tag.
