can you recover your passwords if device broken?

My macbook is completely broken. Does 1password back itself up to the cloud? Do you have any other way of recovering passwords and other info?

@cambodan: The answer is: it depends. If the drive is usable, it should be relatively "easy" for you to pull 1Password's files off of it. If not, you're probably out of luck. The only way you'd have 1Password data "in the cloud" is if you expressly put it there yourself, so you'd probably know — syncing it with Dropbox, for example. 1Password 3 is too old for it to support iCloud (I think MobileMe was still around back then). If you'll let me know what you have to work with, I'll see what I can suggest.

Thanks Brently. Unfortunately, it is the hard drive that is broken on my older Mac.

    Hey ho.

@cambodan: Hmm. Then we need to look at this a different way. Unfortunately we won't be able to help you recover your data, as we never have access to it. If you don't have it stored anywhere else, you will need to start over. There just isn't any way around that. But if you'll let me know what you have to work with, I'll be happy to help walk you through things.

Did you backup your 1Password data at some point?

Did you copy it to other devices, or sync it somewhere?

Let me know and we'll go from there.
