Setting up iPhone Sync to Dropbox only

Hi,

Recently purchased 1Password app on my iPhone 3G. Have been using Dropbox for sometime now. Tried to sync with Dropbox, no luck. Keep getting the following messages:

"Searching for data file on Dropbox"
"Requesting remote encryption keys (A)"

"Dropbox sync failed to download remote encryption keys. Make sure Dropbox is fully synced on your desktop."

I don't have 1Password on my PC. Is this a problem? Is it necessary to pay for the program for both the phone and your PC to run a Dropbox Sync? I checked and my Dropbox folder is fully synced with my PC. Other iPhone apps (Meteor for example) are syncing with Dropbox without issue. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums, covenc! Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

The initial setup of Dropbox syncing requires the installation of 1Password for Mac or Windows (along with the Dropbox application) on your Mac or PC. However, once you've got Dropbox syncing set up and working correctly, you can uninstall 1Password and Dropbox from your computer if you would like to do so.

The Dropbox application is always free, and you can use the free trial of 1Password to perform the steps required:

Our Dropbox sync guide will walk you through the entire process:

We hope you will see the value of having your 1Password data available on your Mac or PC for quickly filling your credentials on websites with a single keystroke (among other things) and decide to purchase a license, but you are under no obligation. :-)
  • Khad,
