Facebook redirect

When I used the browser (Safari) to access Facebook, clicking the link from the pulldown menu within the browser itself takes me into Facebook, but then redirects the page to:

http://www.facebook.com/ajax/ufi/modify.php

This just shows up as a blank page.

Any ideas as to why, I'd just like to click the link and go into my news feed and stay there.

    Hi, Kerry.

Try editing the Login item in 1Password, changing the Location field to this:

    https://www.facebook.com/

Let us know how that works for you.
  • Hi David,

The same thing still happens. I've had a bit of a play trying to change various items within the saved Facebook entry but it still seems to direct me to that blank page.

    Any other ideas?
  • I also tried clearing down the cache and using secure browsing as per:

    http://www.tastyteo.com/2011/06/how-to-fix-httpwwwfacebookcomajaxufimod.html

So I'm not sure if this is a 1Password or a more generic issue.

Please remove the 1Password extension from Firefox and let me know if the issue persists.
  • I'm not using Firefox and don't have the Firefox extension installed (at least it says 'browse' in the preferences section and Firefox isn't ticked).

    I'm using Safari on windows.

Apologies. I clicked through the link you posted and got Firefox on my brain. :)

Please remove the 1Password extension from whichever browser you are using and let me know if the issue persists. ;)
  • I uninstalled and reinstalled and still get the same redirect.

I'm at a loss for suggestions, Kerry.

My own 1Password Login item for Facebook has the location set to http://www.facebook.com; on login (in Safari for Windows and Chrome for Mac), Facebook redirects me to https://www.facebook.com.

I just can't reproduce the problem you describe.
  • From what I can gather this is more of a FB / browser issue than a 1Password issue, so I'll just work around it until resolved elsewhere. Thanks for looking in to it!

I meant for you to try it without the 1Password extension installed. Did you try it while the 1Password extension was removed or only after you reinstalled it?

It does sound like an issue unrelated to 1Password, and that will definitively confirm the hunch that it sounds like we all have.
