1Password for Safari not communicating with the desktop app [FIXED]
Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.
Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.
Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General
Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID
BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!
1Password Version: 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: 14.6.1
Browser: Safari

Hi
Just updated to 8.10.44 and still have the unlock issue, also according to release notes the version numbers of extension and app are supposed to be aligned now, though for me safari extension is still version 2.27.1.
From release notes
"We’re excited to share that we’ve updated the release number formatting for the 1Password browser extension! This change aligns our browser extension with the 1Password apps, so you’ll now see the same release number across all platforms. Plus, both the extension and apps will be released on the same date, for a consistent and streamlined experience."

No worries at all BenBob thanks for joining us.
Auto updates for me always tend to be on the slower side. You described updating 1Password for Mac. Did you update 1Password for Safari from the Mac App Store? If you did try the following.
- Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click (Option-click) on the helper and select quit 1Password completely.
- Fully quit your browser. *Do not minimize.
- Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password from the Dock or the Applications folder and unlock
- Open your browser.

A newer version of 1Password for Safari should be making its way though the App Store. Please check for updated when you can.

To gfio - pardon me for not being as smart as you - I did check for similar posts/solutions before posting my question.
To jam.pd_1p - thank you for the assistance.
1) I am setup for auto updates but apparently it did not update this time.
2) I updated to 8.10.44 manually and unfortunately the issue persists. It works fine and normal on both firefox and chrome, just not on safari. - 1P_Tommy

Check for updates to 1Password for Safari from the App Store.

Very annoying. Safari extension without Touch ID is hardly useful

1Password Team
Hey everyone,
Apologies for the trouble the both of you have experienced with 1Password for Safari no longer integrating to the 1Password desktop app. I'm glad to share that an update containing a fix for this issue is now available for download on the App Store: How to keep 1Password up to date in your browser.
The integration between 1Password for Safari and 1Password for Mac should automatically work again after updating to version 8.10.44, allowing you to share the same lock state and unlock the 1Password browser extension with Touch ID once again.
Everyone at 1Password appreciates your patience whilst this issue was investigated and do let me know how you get on after installing today's update to 1Password for Safari :)

Experience the same. I hope for a quick fix. It literally broke Safari.
Regarding quality, I too feel that 1Password is not what it used to be like in the good old days. I assume that today as with all tech companies, the investors (hedge fund or whatever) wants the investment back and that is only achieved by pushing new features all the time instead of refining what is already there. Too bad it's us, the consumer, who is affected by the shrinking quality. Note, this is not unique to 1Password. I see more and more companies that I interact with deliver lesser quality, but push features.

I guess that you are referring to the known bug...there are already tens of posts about it, would be good to check before posting.
