Archive duplicates

Hi, is there any way to remove duplicates in archive? I do not have duplicates in my keychains, but only in archive (don't know why). Almost every record is repeated 3 times.

Thanks. Peter

  • Hello dufoq3! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! For active items, if the duplicate items are exactly the same and in the same vault then you can also use 1Password's Watchtower tool to clean them up:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
    2. Click on Watchtower in the sidebar.
    3. Click on Show Items under Items with duplicates.

Archived items are excluded from most features in 1Password such as Watchtower, search, and login suggestions. If you see duplicates in the Archive then those will need to be cleaned up manually.

Can I restore archived items to a new, empty, vault, so that I can see if the dedupe feature will prune my archive?  I tried, and it seems the answer is "no."
I understand the rationale for restricting the ability to dedupe/merge so stringently
in the context of a team, but this makes little to no sense for an individual user.
