4 years agoHi @nnnn959lou771 / sherifelabd / @alastair_f:
I've been doing some further digging into this, and I was able to find reference to a few other customers seeing a similar issue, with a few potential solutions to try.
First I'd like to call out the specific issue to make sure we're all on the same page with these potential solutions. If opening 1Password from Password AutoFill (the suggestions in the QuickType bar or the key icon on the right of the QuickType bar) takes a while to load but does eventually open, these specific steps apply to you. If this isn't the issue you're seeing, let me know.
If this is what you're seeing, there's one of two possible solutions you can try:
1. If you don't have two-factor authentication enabled on your Apple ID, try enabling it. Previous customers did not have two-factor authentication enabled on their Apple ID, and for whatever reason, enabling two-factor authentication resolved Password AutoFill being slow to open.
2. If you are unable or unwilling to enable two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, there's an additional workaround that may also resolve this:
- Download the 1Password app on your Apple device.
- Log out of your Apple ID account on your Apple device.
- Log into a second Apple ID account on your Apple device. (This can be a throw-away Apple ID account you create temporarily just for this specific purpose.)
- Log out of the second Apple ID account.
- Log back into your original Apple ID account.
- Go to Settings / Password / Autofill Passwords, unselect Keychain, select 1Password.
I'd just like to clarify one other thing: 1Password for Safari is our new extension for filling in Safari that we're very excited by, and Password AutoFill is an iOS feature that has been around for a couple years.
