Autofill will not enable on Android (Motorola Razr+)

When I try to enable autofill on my Motorola Razr+ 2024 I flip the toggle switch in the 1P settings page and it pops up a dialogue headed "Turn on in Settings". I click on Open Settings and I see on the Google settings page a toggle for 1Password below my Google autofill. I turn it on. Then go back to 1Password and the toggle switch on the 1Password settings page has gone back to off.

Whatever I do this is the behaviour. I've tried turning off Google autofill but it makes no difference. I just can't get the toggle in 1Password to go on and stay on.  Everything else on the page is greyed our and never becomes enabled.

Any ideas, anyone?
