Desktop App and Browser Extension Login Sync Isn't Working
Awhile back, when I logged into 1Password either in my desktop app or the browser extension, the other would sync and get logged in too. But now I have to log into them separately. I do have the "Connect with 1Password in the browser" checked in my desktop app settings.
Version Info:
Vivaldi (Chromium) Extension: 8.12.4.46
Vivaldi Desktop App: 8.11.18
I don't believe I messed with any settings since, but want to see if anyone has any tips or advice to help with this. It's just a bit annoying having to log in twice. Thank you!

Hi DonnaTanner, my apologies for the delayed reply here!
Integration between the app and the browser extension should work automatically in Firefox without any additional setup, so this behaviour is unexpected. Could you create a diagnostics report from the 1Password desktop app, so we can take a closer look?
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to: support@1password.com

Hey! Appreciate the response.
I just updated the desktop app to the most recent version (8.12.5). Attempting to add my browser, a popup mentions that it must be installed in the Program Files folder. Unfortunately my C: drive is quite small so I try to install no applications onto it to keep the windows install the sole thing on it. Do you know if there will be an update to allow this to work with a browser installed on any drive?
Thank you!

Hi Hirokiyama, sorry for the delayed reply!
At the moment, the additional browsers feature on Windows does require the browser to be admin-installed in the Program Files directory. That was a deliberate choice for the first release, as part of how the security checks work.
I can definitely understand wanting to keep your C: drive as minimal as possible. The team is actively looking at expanding support to include code-signed browsers installed in other locations, as well as refining the security checks so we can get the balance right between safety and flexibility. That said, I don't have a timeline or confirmed details to share just yet.

I appreciate your response! I totally get it from your guys' perspective. Hopefully the rollout for the expansion happens in the future :)

Hi Hirokiyama,
Vivaldi isn’t one of our officially supported browsers, so it won’t automatically connect to the desktop app in the same way as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Brave.
Could you try adding Vivaldi as an additional browser in the desktop app, and let me know whether this gets things working? The steps are here: Connect an additional browser to 1Password
Just a heads up that support for adding additional browsers was introduced with version 8.11.22 of the 1Password for Windows desktop app. If you're currently on 8.11.18, you’ll need to update first.
Let me know if this helps!
