Memberships are the way forward with 1Password. Our founder, Dave Teare, posted a really informative outline of the reason for changing our support for standalone licenses here and standalone vaults: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/601917/#Comment_601917
Thanks much. I had posted there as I would still like to have the option to use a local vault and not upgrade to 1Password8 and lose the option.
