Failed to copy field: iPhone & iPad in safari extensions

It sounds like you're running into a few known issues with 1Password for Safari on iOS. The following steps might help to temporarily resolve the issue and allow you to copy and paste from the extension:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Safari.
  3. Tap Extensions.
  4. Tap 1Password.
  5. Tap Other Websites.
  6. Tap/select Ask.
  7. Switch back to Safari (the app).
  8. Tap the aA / puzzle piece icon.
  9. Tap 1Password.
  10. Tap Allow.

However, if that doesn't work the best workaround is to copy and paste from the main 1Password app on your home screen.

Also weird is when opening 1password settings within the safari extensions, it show a new tab with limited settings. But when clicking on ‘open 1 password’ within security it opens an empty tab.

Is this only happening on your iPad or is it happening on your iPhone as well? If it's only happening with the iPad then do you have an external keyboard attached? Are you able to open the settings screen if you disconnect the external keyboard?
