3 months agoI'm sorry for not providing a direct answer. You asked:
If one wanted to take the extra step of backing up their local files, would it be wise to also store with that local backup a copy of the latest version of 1Password, at the time of the back, which can be downloaded from your website?
I don't recommend creating a manual backup in this way but instead recommend relying on your 1Password account to encrypt and backup your data automatically to our servers. The regular installer from our website will always download and install the latest version of 1Password which means that the local cache of the database that you've saved may not match the database schema of the version of 1Password that is downloaded and installed by the installer in the future.
If you do need to download and save a separate copy of your data then using the export feature would be a better option: How to export your data from the 1Password desktop app
However, the export feature isn't designed for backups. Exports are saved in plain text and are not encrypted. If you do export your data then make sure to save and store the exported data securely.
