Here's why I went back to 1Password 7
I tried 1Password 8 for a while and overall really like it, especially Universal Autofill, but I had to go back to 1Password 7 unfortunately. If any when I see these things have been improved, I'll be happy to revisit.
- Quick Access is just a search bar. No access to Favorites, etc. That's not very quick access to my important stuff.
- I use 1Password Mini to fill in personal info and credit card info in web forms. Not possible via Quick Access. I think the Safari toolbar icon shows basically a Mini window like before, but I remove all those third party toolbar icons because I hate the forced blue for them. That's on Apple.
- When filling logins in a browser, the login options that come up are not properly displayed. Like one at work were I have other logins under the same domain name, but only one that's an exact match for the subdomain, with 1Password 7, it simply filled in the login via ā\, but in 1Password 8, it pulls up a menu with everything under that domain name, and the exact subdomain match isn't even the first (default) option.

Here are the Autofill settings that control that.
I can't seem to find these settings. Where are they located?

I consider haters the ones that hated 1password "just because". Because it isn't native, because it is built on electron, because it's subscription only. Because of engineering and business choices that I respect. Maybe I don't like all of them, but I respect them.
I admit now I am pissed off because it takes work and trust to overcome prejudices and begin using the new version of a software. As a software developer myself, I love being part of software improvement. And the n-th time that while I am working 1password doesn't work as expected, this upsets me a bit.
But having to deal with something so broken (search not working, shortcuts sometimes working sometimes not working) is something that if you are working sometimes hits nerves more than I would like to admit.
Now, regarding the constructive approach: I pay for 1password subscription long before it became mandatory. I applied for what I consider "beta testing" both on iOs and Mac Os. I am here, spending my time reporting bugs and giving my feedback to 1password community. Which is not that I hate 1password, but that I am going back to 1password 7 because I am a professional and I need this tool.
I'll get back to 1password8 one day. Which is not being a hater, in my opinion, but just giving the feedback that this is too much to take.
What would you consider more constructive?

superandrew I'm curious, you say "I don't like 1password 8 haters and their attitude." Then you proceed to say you're "pissed off" and are abandoning the new version as a result of exactly the problems that your so-called 'haters' have taken time to detail and discuss on these forums. You've offered nothing constructive in your statement. I'm curious...

I am not the kind of person who doesn't appreciate hard work. I also love change, and appreciate new version of apps even if they have minor disadvantages because they're new, and something changed, and you need to create some new habits. I don't like 1password8 haters and their attitude.
However, I am going back to 1password7 and I swear that I am very close to abandoning 1password alltogheter after trying one month of 1password 8.
What was a productivity tool, something to be proud of with coworkers, something I loved for how "it just worked" turned into a mess of "almost working" things with lots of bugs.
To be honest, I'm pissed off.
1Password should turn 1password into something at least as functional as 1password7. I don't care about electron, rust, native or whatsoever. It just doesn't work, and it makes your work harder.

whole thing feels like an "ARQ 6" sequel. At least Stefan came to his senses - maybe that will happen here but I'm not going to be holding my breath

If you're talking about from Quick Access, all that happens when I hit Enter on a credit card is it opens in its own little window. If you're talking about the toolbar button, as I've said, I've removed it because I find the forced blue/color for third party app icons horribly distracting.
Those are all great but there's a third option as well. š What I was referring to is the inline menu that we show directly within login forms, payment forms, and signup forms. Here's how it looks for me on Twitter's login page:
And here's the inline menu suggesting credit cards to me when adding a payment option to Amazon:
My guess is you're not seeing this either because you don't have the extension installed or it's been disabled under Settings. Here are the Autofill settings that control that.
I hope that helps. Please let me know.

hear hear.
But Jimmy Hedge Fund doesn't know or care about any of this. He just wants to know, where's his cut of the profits they promised. He doesn't want to hear how those profits are now delayed while they burn through more cash backtracking and doing what they should have known pretty quickly to do.
It's not unlike a loan shark. Your problems are your problems; he wants the money you owe him.
Imagine the meetings where AB discussed all of this, both at the beginning ("but, javascript? Doesn't that open things up for security vulnerabilities?") and ongoing ("um, boss, we can't take that feature out..." etc). Imagine the mental gymnastics needed to justify doing what they did and throwing away what they had, not only from a code base standpoint but from a security, performance, and feature set standpoint.

Given that Agilebits have shown they are willing to rethink 1Password from scratch, perhaps they should rethink their rethink from scratch too, swallow their pride and continue to develop 1Password 7,until they have an alternative worthy of its name ā 1Password 8 isn't it.

I'm sorry but with this new version I can not recommend it to anyone anymore.
I really don't understand why all features which were added over time based on customer requests in version 7 where removed in the new version. It's like they start all over again with inventing the wheel.
You had a real winner with 1P7 but 8 is a big step back. Also, a unified code base (Electron) )between different platforms... really?
