iOS: Safari autofill not working for many sites

I tried to post this in the original thread but it had been locked.  Will the same fix that was released for macOS be applied to an upcoming iOS 1p update?  If so, any timelines?

  • Hello folks,

We've just released a new update for 1Password on iOS which resolves an a known issue that would prevent autofill from working properly on certain websites. Please update 1Password for iOS to version 8.12.6

Thank you for your patience while we worked to release a fix for the autofill issue. If you're still seeing autofill issues after updating then please open a new discussion here and include the following:

  • Hello The_Doctor! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into autofill issues when using 1Password in Safari on iOS. Our team is working on releasing a fix for the issue on iOS which I expect will be included in the next 1Password for iOS update.

For the time being, as a temporary workaround, you can use Password AutoFill to fill and save login in Safari on iOS using 1Password: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

1P for iOS updated yesterday, but there was no mention that I saw of this being fixed in the release notes.  It "seems" to be fixed, but given the seemingly random sites where autofill failed its hard to be sure.

Can you confirm if the dev team believes this defect has been fixed in the latest iOS release

I strongly encourage 1Password to place additional emphasis on its quality assurance processes.  While no company or software product is ever perfect, in my opinion, each release of 1Password should be rigorously tested to ensure that its performance is at the highest standard of excellence before being released.  A password manager plays a critical role in the digital lives of its customers, and excellence of performance should be the overwhelming top priority.

I cannot speak for others, but personally I would prefer that product updates be delayed in order to allow 1Password to focus on quality.  Fixing an issue promptly in a released product is good.  Not having the issue be visible to customers in the first place is even better.
