Or maybe keep the buttons as they are now, but at least focus the search bar when tapping a second time on any of the buttons?

1P_Dave the issue is not the bar itself - having it visible permanently makes sense. The issue is that before you could double-tap the Search button in the bottom bar to stick the cursor in the search bar which was incredibly useful when phones are so large nowadays. It's now incredibly cumbersome to navigate to the top bar. Ideally, allowing the search bar to be put at the bottom of the screen would be the best option, as that's where all the main buttons are. But aside from that, any sort of bottom bar shortcut to focus the search bar would be most appreciated. E.g. hold and swipe up on home to "throw" the cursor to the top box. Thanks

It can stay persistent at the top, but at least add search icon on bottom bar that focuses on search bar (or add option to do so). Currently bottom bar has lots of space, so bringing back 4th icon should be be an issue :)
And yes, I am aware of one hand mode, but it is more cumbersome to use than simply adding search button to bottom bar.

That being said, I've shared your feedback with the team as we continue to iterate on the search experience in the 1Password app.
