Safari Extension Started Asking For Password For Every Auto Fill [SOLVED]

I've been using 1P8 for some time without any auto fill issues. All of a sudden today, the iOS Safari Extension started wanting me to manually enter my password for an auto fill anytime Safari was closed and re-opened. I've always had the "Authorize After" Safari Extension setting set to "1 Week".
I tried disabling the Safari Extension, rebooting the phone and reenabling the Safari Extension. I then tried disabling auto fill on both 1P8 and iOS settings, rebooting the phone and then reenabling. Neither of which worked. I ended up having to completely uninstall and reinstall of 1P8, which was annoying, and that worked.
Is there anything else that can be done if this happens again? Is this a known issue?

The Safari extension on iPad requires a password every time Safari is closed, even though it sets the reauthentication period to 2 weeks.
Is this a bug or a spec?

I have to agree with the sentiments above. 1P8 is much clunkier than version 7. I can live with that but the loss of functionality and complete lack of communication from 1P support is a huge cause for concern. I have used 1P since 2006 and previously loved it but unfortunately I’m falling out of love with a program/service that used to be the gold standard against which all others were measured. I’m so disappointed in the company’s response to this.

This is a persistent issue for me too… really disappointed with 1P8… a terrible, terrible release.
1P used to be the gold standard (imo) for password managers. Seriously considering pulling my family subscription to a competitor. - AMonitorDarklyOccasional Contributor
ag_mike_d That’s incredibly frustrating to hear. We keep being told that all of these high priority issues are being worked on but it’s been months of little to no transparency. What are we paying for?
That post you linked to is regarding the Safari Extension biometrics. I’m not sure why that discussion keeps getting muddled in with this thread. This thread is supposed to be about the timer issue. What’s going on with that?

As with others, this time running iPad OS 16.1, I've the same issue with always being prompted for password entry by the browser extension, despite using the "1 week" purported fix. And I agree it's very frustrating.

I switched off the 1P safari extension but I’m pretty disappointed to learn how widespread this issue is, and how slowly it’s being worked on.
