Safari Extension Started Asking For Password For Every Auto Fill [SOLVED]

.
I've been using 1P8 for some time without any auto fill issues. All of a sudden today, the iOS Safari Extension started wanting me to manually enter my password for an auto fill anytime Safari was closed and re-opened. I've always had the "Authorize After" Safari Extension setting set to "1 Week".
I tried disabling the Safari Extension, rebooting the phone and reenabling the Safari Extension. I then tried disabling auto fill on both 1P8 and iOS settings, rebooting the phone and then reenabling. Neither of which worked. I ended up having to completely uninstall and reinstall of 1P8, which was annoying, and that worked.
Is there anything else that can be done if this happens again? Is this a known issue?

Hey folks,
1Password for Safari on iOS locking earlier than it should is something we're aware of and actively working on resolving. Please stay tuned for updates.

Just saying I came here for this exact issue. Set safari auto fill to 1 week or 2 weeks, doesn’t matter. It always asks me for my master password to fill. Biometrics are super important but at the very bare minimum needs to last the specified amount of time before requiring the master password.

Can a staff member please give an update regarding the timer bug? Every time I use the Safari Extension I want to throw my phone at the wall.

This thread is supposed to be about the timer issue. Please move discussion regarding FaceID in the Safari Extension to the thread marcelogrsp pasted above as it’s causing confusion.

Accordingly to 1Password disabled this for security reasons.

As soon as my subscription is up I’m moving to Keychain. I’ve had enough.

If IOS 16 changed how WebAuthn acts, 1P surely knew this beforehand and could have taken measures to push an update to resolve the issue before it ever affected users. WHY DID THIS NOT HAPPEN!? Stop blaming IOS and fix your app! - OrlandoechNew Contributor
lol this is all comical... they could have pushed an update to fix the issue before it hit users and became a bigger issue. They chose to no and instead they chose to let it break, then deflect and blame IOS... this is funny.

@frogywill set the 1 week time on V7 and you should be fine. V8 is broken.

While I agree with dtoub comment from the other day, the Autofill workaround is fine for me. The 1Password folks probably should have given this info out when they realized that it would be a while for this to be resolved. I appreciate the statements I've seen lately where the support folks know this is an important issue, it is a priority for the development team, and that they are looking to the new iOS 16.1 API to be the key for the fix.
