Snippets going away?
I finally got around to checking out the snippets lab feature, but I can't get it to work. I created a snippet item, but it doesn't get replaced even in something like Notes that I'd expect to be well-supported. Also, the Google Docs file:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TjWdarf3XH_0vQWpU40Gv0Jk5_Gm49LGYjRDlP6svzQ/edit
that's linked from the Settings window pane as documentation has been deleted.
Is this feature dying on the vine?
1Password for Mac 8.12.2 (81202037)
Hello folks,
Snippets was released as an experimental feature, meaning it was shared early to gather feedback and explore its potential. For now, development has been put on the backburner while the team focuses on other priorities. As with any experimental feature, its availability may change over time, and experimental features aren’t documented on our support website.
The team is looking into removing the Google Doc link from the app, as that document hasn’t been updated in some time and is no longer available.
If you would like to play around with the feature then make sure to enable the feature in 1Password > Settings > Labs. Then check to see that you've already granted the 1Password app accessibility permissions:
- Select the Apple menu > System Settings from the menu bar.
- Select Privacy & Security in the sidebar, then select Accessibility in the list.
- Select the toggle beside 1Password, then enter the password you use to log in to your Mac.
- If you don't see 1Password, select the + button, enter the password you use to log in to your Mac, then select the 1Password app in your Applications folder and select Open.
Then, fully close 1Password by right-clicking on the menu bar icon and then clicking Quit. Then re-open 1Password from your Applications folder.-Dave

Good catch Cheesecake on Input Monitoring -- I didn't know Apple had added that entitlement. Alas, the feature still is not working for me after adding 1P there. And yes, 1P was already enabled for Accessibility.
It sounds like either way, this feature is indeed dead on the vine, or at least withering, so I'll just let it be for now. I mostly use Keyboard Maestro for this sort of thing but I did have visions of sharing a set of snippets with my whole family/team through a tool they already have, gated by vault. Ah well. Given how unreliable the Safari extension remains, focusing the team on core functionality is a good thing.

I too only recently had dived into the Snippet feature from Labs. It took me a moment to figure out, but in MacOS, especially with Tahoe's security features, you need to allow "Input Monitoring" for 1Password and is done so by flipping on a button as shown in the screenshot. If 1Password doesn't exist in this section, just click the "+" button, navigate to your "Applications" folder, select 1Password and "Open". After that your "shortcut" should then expand into the plain text or formatted text as you would expect. I hope this helps!

I ran into the same thing. I didn't see any kind of support around this either. It would be really exciting if this was a thing still
