Please add support for the Orion browser. It needs explicit signature verification from 1Password to work. Otherwise, it should work out of the box.

Yeah, and I can't give a timeframe on when I'll send you money to reactivate my 1Password subscription. Maybe I can just tell you "soon" and "shortly" for more than a year and a half; does that work for you?

We've made a lot of progress last month. :) Some updates from both ends:
- Orion RC now supports the 1Password extension: https://browser.kagi.com/updates/orion-release-notes.html. This means you can install the extension from the Chrome Web Store and use it in Orion, although it won't connect to the desktop app out of the box.
- 1Password nightly (build 81009030) for Mac has the new "Trusted Browsers" setting which lets you allow Orion or another browser to connect to the desktop app. You can change the release channel for the desktop app in Settings > Advanced > Release Channel.
For those of you who jump on the nightly builds, I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience with adding your own trusted browsers. We'll also share another update more publicly when this feature moves to the production release.

Hey everyone! I have some good news to share right before the holidays.
Orion and 1Password
- I can confirm that Orion 0.99.126.4 works very well out of the box with the 1Password extension for Chrome. Highlights include:
- A fix for a condition where 1Password autofill suggestions would either not appear at all, or would not respond properly to user input
- Passkey support 🥳
Thank you to Vladimir and the Orion team for these updates.
- The setting to connect 1Password for Mac to any web browser that you trust has graduated from Labs, and shipped to the stable channel this week in 1Password 8.10.22. This setting allows you to unlock the browser extension using Touch ID and use other features which depend on a connection between the browser extension and the desktop app.
You can add Orion to the list in Settings > Browser > Connect to additional browsers.
With the new setting in 1Password, and the more comprehensive support for Chrome extensions in Orion, it should now be possible to have a very successful experience.
Getting help and support
While we support everyone's choice to use 1Password with any web browser, please be aware that for practical purposes, we have a limited ability to help with specific browsers outside of the ones that we actively test. You can help us help you by following these guidelines:
- If you experience an issue with 1Password in Orion, please try to confirm it in one of our officially supported browsers. Reproducing the issue in, e.g. Chrome, will make it clearer that the bug is on our end and will also make it much easier to troubleshoot and address.
- If you believe the issue is related to the setting in the desktop app (e.g. the extension is otherwise working, but does not unlock automatically when you unlock the Mac app) then please let us know on this forum.
- If the issue does not seem related to the desktop app integration and cannot be reproduced in another web browser, it may be best to report it on the Orion public issue tracker: https://orionfeedback.org/. The Orion team is working to ensure full compatibility with Chrome extensions but this is an ongoing process.

Thanks, guys. That was indeed the case. So now when I go to fill a login, I'm met with this dialog: "1Password can't verify that Orion RC should have access to your "Google (*******)" item. Do you want to fill it anyway? And I'm presented with Fill Once, Fill & Update Login, and Cancel. Fill & Update Login leads to the same problem as before. Fill Once works, but then I have to do it every time? I have another machine but I don't feel like it has this issue.
**Edit: Or maybe that's the the issue that was being originally discussed wherein Command-\ doesn't work.

A new update for Orion was released yesterday which improves support for saving and signing in with passkeys using 1Password:
Improved 1Password compatibility
I've tested Orion version 0.99.126.4 with 1Password in the browser version 2.18.0 and it looks like passkeys are working smoothly. 🎉
I'd like to thank our friends at Orion for such a quick turnaround on an update. 💙

B0rg Orion RC is equivalent to 1Password nightly builds. You don't need a subscription to get 1Password support in Orion, but you should subscribe if you want to get this feature before it goes into the stable channel.
It is strange that we are discussing about this in 1Password forum and not in Orion one.

I'm using a brand new, completely clean install of Orion RC and was able to connect 1Password successfully with the extension.
The dropdown on the input field with my logins is pretty hit or miss whether it will show up. It's honesty about 50/50 (It doesn't work on this site, for example). When it does, it responds to hover events, but clicking on a login won't auto-fill. Looking at the console for the extension, I do see a console error (this is the console specifically for the extension and not for the site I'm auto-filling):
I can open the mini-window from the extension but clicking "Autofill" provides a console error as well:
Maybe about a third of the time, the mini-window won't load when I click the extension button. I usually have to restart the browser to get it working again.

@jjthejet: I appreciate the question. There are two parts to this ongoing effort:
- Allowing 1Password to connect securely to any browser that you trust.
- Improving compatibility of the 1Password extension with specific web browsers.
We have been fixing bugs and making improvements to #1, and I can share with you that we are on track to bring this feature to production (likely through 1Password Labs) soon.
The second piece is more complicated since it's a responsibility that's shared with the browser developers. For our part, we aim to make 1Password compatible with the WebExtensions spec that most browsers implement. But each browser is unique, especially ones like Orion that are not simple forks of Chromium.
When we learn about issues with 1Password in a browser, we reach out to the developers to work it out, and we have been in communication with Vlad from Orion about every issue we've found or that has been reported to us. A lot of improvements have been made to bring us from zero support to where things stand today, so I am optimistic that compatibility will continue to improve.

I've been using it since you enabled the functionality and the auto-fill functionality is hit or miss. I trust you're working through issues so only mention it here in case there are any patterns that could be helpful in troubleshooting.
For example...
It won't auto-fill anything on AWS or Twilio. The dropdown doesn't show and clicking the extension icon shows relevant accounts to choose from but clicking "Autofill" doesn't do anything. It will show the dropdown but won't auto-fill passwords on LinkedIn. It does fill-in the email.
The extension is completely disabled on Google and latticehq.com (an HR tool) and I can't even click on it.
I haven't been able to get the "Logs in with Google" functionality to work or have it fill forms with credit cards stored in my vault.
